You’ll Be Mine by Mandy Boerma and Rachel Hauck is the latest in the Hearts Bend Collection. The one word, I’d use to describe this book is sweet.
What I Liked About You’ll Be Mine
Camellia “Cami” Jackson and Ben Carter are great characters. I so enjoyed that they had known each other almost all their lives and the whole lifelong love story hit my happy spot. I also liked that their backstories were similar and the thing they needed most was to ask God for help and then let Him do his thing.
I’ve always wanted to own an inn, so the fact this story focused on a quaint old inn, just made the story better. All I could picture was a big white house with tall shade trees all around.
The secondary characters add levity to the story. Ray, Walt, and Myrtle May made me chuckle multiple times, and they lighten the story that at times is a bit heavy.
The story moved at a good pace. I started reading and only stopped because I had to get some sleep. I think readers will find it entertaining.
What You’ll Like About You’ll Be Mine
If you’re a Rachel Hauck fan and you enjoyed the original Hearts Bend novels, you’ll like this addition. Hauck has mentored Boerma through the awesome Sunrise Publishing program where an established author guides an up-an-coming author through the writing process.
And, if you love sweet romance, you won’t find one any sweeter. The faith element is just right and rings true.
Final Thoughts
One of my favorite elements in the book is the bench depicted in the painting. The story behind that bench is maybe the sweetest aspect. I’ll not give it away, but if you finish it and don’t say “Aww” there’s something wrong with you.
I received an advance read copy, but I’ve pre-ordered the paperback. You can read more reviews on my blog.
