Wedding at Sea by Melissa Tagg

June 21, 2023 | Book Reviews

Wedding at Sea by Melissa Tagg is the final book in the Muir Harbor series. Once again, Tagg has written a delightful book featuring the Muir family. I’ve waited for this story and wasn’t disappointed.

What I Liked About Wedding at Sea by Melissa Tagg

I’ve loved each installment of the series, but from the first I’ve wanted Lillian’s and Wilder’s story. Wedding at Sea is the perfect enemies to more romance story. In the two previous novels, we’ve known Lillian has an intense dislike for Wilder, who always seemed very charming and likable to me. Finally, we learn the reason for her animosity. It’s a classic example at how a moment of insensitivity can cause years of unnecessary friction.

Lillian in the previous books hasn’t been one of my favorite characters because of the way she treated Wilder, but as Tagg unraveled more of Lillian’s story, my sympathy for her grew and grew until I truly loved her by the end. I was rooting for Lillian to have a different outcome for her life story; however, I wasn’t disappointed in what ultimately turned out to be her truth.

Finally, I was very pleased with how Maggie’s story turned out. There was an unexpected twist at the end, but it was so sweet.

What You’ll Like About Wedding at Sea

If you are a Melissa Tagg fan, you will thoroughly enjoy this novel. I’m not sure she can write something that doesn’t meet expectations, but you’ll find she’s created another beautiful story about family, love, and faith.

There’s a little bit of sizzle in the romance between Wilder and Lillian, so if you like that, you’ll be thrilled by their story. There’s plenty of kissing and lots of tenderness between the two.

And, if you like catching up with the characters from the past books, you’ll find satisfying tidbits about them as well.

Final Thoughts

With every great series, I’m always sad when they come to an end. I love the setting and Tagg does a fabulous job bringing the scenery to life. I could see it and wanted to be there. The faith element was perfect for the story and not at all preachy.

It’s a superb story that will leave you satisfied at the end. For more reviews visit my blog.
