How Sweet It Is by Andrea Christenson

How Sweet It Is by Andrea Christenson is the latest installment in Susan May Warren’s Deep Haven world. This is Christenson’s third Deep Haven novel with Sunrise Publishing, and no pun intended it is sweet.

What I Liked About How Sweet It Is by Andrea Christenson

I know I say this a lot, but the characters are what make a book enjoyable. Robin Fox and Sammy Johnson, our heroine and hero, were very believable characters. Maybe because I’ve struggled with the same feelings they do, I could identify with them. They’re likable, although you may want to give Robin a bit of a shake at one point. But neither are perfect and part of the fun of the book is how they find each other and their real purpose.

I liked the theme, too. At least what I determined was my theme for the story. Robin and Sammy both believed they didn’t belong and that they had to prove themselves in order to be noticed. That’s been a lifelong struggle for me, so I could totally relate to them. The joy of the journey with these characters was seeing how they found their place and each other.

The faith message was present but subtle enough that I don’t see how anyone, whether a believer or not, couldn’t enjoy this story.
