Expired Vows by Laura Conaway and Lisa Phillips is the last installment in the Last Chance County series published by Sunrise Media. Conaway does a nice job bringing the series to a conclusion.
What I Liked About Expired Vows by Laura Conaway
It’s possible Trace Bently was my favorite character in the series. I liked his protective nature and felt the conflict inside him at letting go of the woman he’d loved. Conaway made his grief real and a scene near the end will stir emotions. Kelsey Scott had her own grief to deal with and I was glad to see how independent she was.
I was impressed by the way Conaway dealt with Kelsey’s disability. She was strong and courageous and pushed through the awkward moments with dignity and grace.
The mystery was well done. I did figure out the villain, but there was one twist that had me doubting for a while.
What You’ll Like About Expired Vows
If you’re a suspense/action lover, this story won’t disappoint. It wasn’t over the top, but sustained just the right amount of tension to make you nervous.
The romance is there but subtle for most of the book. If you like more suspense and romance then this will suit you well. But if you like romance, you’ll still find enough to make you happy.
Finally, if you like a clean story with a strong faith message, you’ll be very pleased with Expired Vows.
Final Thoughts
The entire series gets a wrap up in the epilogue, which I particularly liked. It’s aways nice to know all of the characters you’ve come to know get a happy ending. If you’ve enjoyed the first three novels, you’ll enjoy Expired Vows too.
