Creed by Susan May Warren brings the Minnesota Marshalls series to a conclusion, and it’s a rousing end. However, there is still a bad guy out there that I’m sure will re-surface in the future. Warren has a unique knack for interconnecting stories, so I’m pretty sure she won’t leave this thread hanging for long.
What I Liked About Creed by Susan May Warren
My favorite aspect of this book is how Creed and Imani find themselves. Creed had real growth throughout the series but especially so in this story. There were times I thought he might give up, but he always found the strength to get back up, dust himself off, and go for what he wanted. Imani has come across as irresponsible in the past books, but she matured, and I’d say finally found herself.
The action and suspense were solid as is always the case with a Susan May Warren novel. Still, I was pretty sure who was behind some of the trouble the Marshalls faced, even though the motive wasn’t especially clear until near the end. This didn’t interfere with my enjoyment of the story because there was always the chance, I was wrong. You never know with Warren.
Finally, there is a character that was introduced in an earlier book that I wanted to see again and joy, joy, joy, he makes an appearance. I’m hoping he has a story of his own someday.
What You’ll Like About Creed
If you’ve read the previous four books, you won’t be disappointed in this story. You get to see all the Minnesota Marshalls interacting as well as a few of the Montana Marshalls who pop in. If you’re like me, you enjoy seeing characters from previous books make an appearance because it reassures you, they’re doing okay.
Of course, the action is almost non-stop so buckle your seatbelts and hang on. You’ll keep turning the pages to see what happens next.
Final Thoughts
When a series concludes it’s always a little sad. After you’ve spent a year with a family, you feel like you’re saying goodbye to people who’ve become special to you. But I can take heart because I know somewhere down the line, we’ll see these Marshalls again.
I received an advance read copy for review, but I will be adding Creed to my collection.
