One Last Shot by Susan May Warren is the first story in a four-book series. This novel has all the action, suspense, and romance we’ve come to expect from Warren.
What I Liked About One Last Shot by Susan May Warren
I liked the storyline of a country music singer with a tarnished reputation trying to boost his image by participating in a reality show. Right from the start, I was expecting things to go bad. I wasn’t disappointed. But Oaken Fox is more than up for the challenge and turns out to be quite the hero. The heroine, Boo Kingston, starts off a little standoffish, but it didn’t take long for me to be one hundred percent for her. Behind her reluctant façade is a heart of gold.
The secondary characters added to the dynamics of the story. I liked them all and am very curious to see what perils they will face.
The action was intense at times, but the way Oaken and Boo responded seemed believable. Warren introduces an over-arching mystery for the series. It’s got me guessing as to who the villain may turn out to be.
What You’ll Like About One Last Shot
I say this all the time in my reviews, but it’s true. If you’re a Susan May Warren fan, you’ll love this book. She keeps the action going and adds just the right amount of sizzle to the romance.
You’ll find this story right up your alley if you’re expecting a solid faith message. There are some strong believers that I can’t help but think will have their faith tested in the future.
Finally, you’ll get to see some familiar faces from previous stories. If you’re like me, you enjoy catching up with old friends.
Final Thoughts
One Last Shot is a great start, and kept me engaged throughout. I’m looking forward to the next three stories.
