Christmas with You by Tari Faris is a delightful read with all the right elements: Christmas, faith, and romance. Book three in the new Home to Heritage series from Sunrise Publishing, this sweet story has all the feels.
What I Liked About Christmas with You by Tari Faris
Christmas with You is a reunion story since the characters know each other and had unrequited love for one another. This is one of my favorite tropes, because who doesn’t want first love to work out?
I was fully engaged with the story from the beginning. Fallon and Cole were both sympathetic characters that you wanted to see get a happy ending. Their relationship was shattered when Cole made a terrible mistake. Now, years later they have a chance to rekindle that romance. Both were dealt low blows from people that should have cared about their hearts, and those same people threaten to ruin their second chance at love.
Trust is a key theme in this book both trusting each other but ultimately trusting God in all circumstances. Maybe it’s because I too have trust issues with people and even with God that this story resonated with me. I made screenshots of several of the passages where either Cole or Fallon wrestled with trusting God. I think they’re worth remembering. “Either she could trust God, or she couldn’t, and there was no point in believing in a God she couldn’t trust…Life had given her a lot of hard moments. But God had given her many beautiful as well.” I love that so much.
What You’ll Like About Christmas with You
If you like a sweet romance with a little, clean sizzle, you’ll enjoy this book. Because they had loved each other once, even if unspoken, the romance didn’t seem rushed or contrived.
The spiritual content is centered on trusting God in good times and bad, which if you’re like me, you may need to be reminded of often. It’s not a preachy message, but Faris has a clear message about the goodness of God.
Finally, if you like family stories, this should be right up your alley. Cole has a teenaged son and a seven-year-old daughter that add both sweetness and tension to the story.
Final Thoughts
You’ll see a few familiar faces from previous books, which I always enjoy. Christmas with You is a story I would read again.
