Rescued Faith by Michelle Sass Aleckson is the latest installment from the Last Chance County Fire and Rescue series, first created by Lisa Phillips. The story begins with a bang and keeps the action steady until the end.

What I Liked About Rescued Faith by Michelle Sass Aleckson

I’m a fan of rough around the edges characters, which are usually the heroes, but in this case it’s the heroine of the story that needs softening. Penny Mitchell is a PI trying to bust a case involving some seriously bad people. She’s smart, tough, and in need of someone to love her. Enter rescue firefighter, Bryce Crawford, a reformed playboy, who wants one more chance to prove to Penny he’s a changed man.

The action was believable, and so was the reason that Penny and Bryce broke up. I found that refreshing because some romantic suspense novels actually test the reality possibilities and enter the too fantastic to believe category. The bad guys were villains, and I didn’t know until near the end the identity of the unexpected, dastardly criminal.

I liked the faith thread, which wasn’t in your face, but was very present. There is always something about a person returning to faith that I find inspirational. Coming home is a heartwarming theme.

What You’ll Like About Rescued Faith

If you like powerful heroes and heroines, you’ll like Bryce and Penny. Several of the characters from previous novels make appearances and add value to the story.

Aleckson is one of my favorite Sunrise authors and I’ve really liked everything she’s written so far. So, if you’re a fan of the Last Chance series, you’ll enjoy this book. Aleckson did a wonderful job.

Final Thoughts

Rescued Faith is entertaining. It will keep you guessing, and if you’re like me, you’ll be glad you don’t live in Last Chance County because that place is a hotbed for trouble.
