No Place Like Home by Betsy St. Amant is the second story in her Magnolia Bay series. Cade Landry, Magnolia Bay city director, and Rosalyn Dupree, former resident now famous aerial artist are the stars of this sweet story.

What I Liked About No Place Like Home by Betsy St. Amant

I adored Cade in Where I Found You and was happy to see this book was all about him. Cade is such a fun character and will have you chuckling more than once because of his stress-induced mammoth sweet tooth. One lesson he needs to learn is he doesn’t have to do everything himself. But he’s a Landry and Landrys do what needs to be done.

Rosalyn has a big secret and is hiding out in Magnolia Bay as she tries to sort out her life. Like Cade, she doesn’t want to ask for help, which only leads to trouble. She’s an interesting character, brave when she dangles from silk high off the ground but frightened to let people in.

Cade and Rosalyn have a competitive history that made me laugh a few times. This novel is an enemy to more trope even though you’ll probably conclude that they’ve always really liked each other.

What You’ll Like About No Place Like Home

If you enjoy small town settings with a few eccentric people, you’ll find this story very entertaining. The colorful side characters really make this series pop.

If there is a theme, I’d say it’s learning to let other people help. Cade and Rosalyn would have avoided many of their problems if they’d just asked for help. Both had to learn to trust others and to trust God with their problems. But doesn’t that reflect how most of us deal with situations in our lives?

Finally, if you like a serious book interspersed with good doses of humor, this novel will thoroughly satisfy you. Like the first novel, there is a little suspense, but mostly it’s a love story.

Final Thoughts

This is a great addition to the series that you may want to read more than once. The story pulled me in from the start and I enjoyed it all the way through.
