Meet Me at Sunset Cove by Sarah May Warren is a super fun novel where readers can visit Jonathon Island once again. And yes, it’s Sarah, not Susan. Sarah is Susan’s daughter.
What I Liked About Meet Me at Sunset Cove
I think I could relate too much to Daisy Decker. Not in her carpentry skills, of which I have none, but in finding herself on the wrong end of a corporate decision. It’s crushing when you’re dismissed as if you’re just another expendable commodity. And even worse when the person you trusted turns out to be a backstabbing double-crosser. I felt her pain and disappointment.
The hero, Hunter Barrett, was someone else I could relate to in his employment situation. I think you’ll be able to feel his anxiety as he struggles with obligation versus following your dream. You’ll admire his loyalty to his dad.
The romance is sweet, and the faith element just right.
What You’ll Like About Meet Me at Sunset Cove
If you’re into home improvement, you’ll like this story. Daisy is made for her own reality show and may inspire you to take up a few DIY projects.
This is a fake fiancé story, so if you enjoy that type of book, which I do, you’ll find everything you need to keep you entertained. Warren does a great job of creating anticipation of when and how the couple is outed.
Both characters have deep wounds inflicted by people who should have guarded their hearts. Their journeys to healing and restoration, especially Hunter’s, are very satisfying.
Final Thoughts
The theme of this story is all about where we should place our trust, or in whom we should place our trust. I need reminding of that from time to time.
