Fury by Steffani Webb

July 6, 2024 | Book Reviews

Fury by Steffani Webb is the latest novel in the A Breed Apart Legacy Series and it’s action-packed from start to finish. Fury is the fourth book in Ronie Kendig’s military working dog world and is published by Sunrise Publishing.

What I Liked About Fury by Steffani Webb

I particularly liked the storyline. With so many news stories of hacking and data breaches, Fury seemed very believable. Reading can be a way to escape or live vicariously but I like to think what I’m reading is not only entertaining but realistic, too. Webb’s novel didn’t disappoint.

The characters were solid. Both Davis Ledger, the hero, and Hollyn Reinhardt, the heroine, were tough and smart the majority of the time. As with most action/suspense books, the characters tend to make at least one bad judgment call that creates trouble. They worked their way through it though. They were likable and had good chemistry.

I guess Fury is a second chance romance story, which is one of my favorite tropes. Davis and Hollyn have known each other for years and are in love, but never expressed it. For most of the book, they have unrequited love and since Hollyn is literally in danger, the romance is more subdued. It’s there, but the main point for Davis and Hollyn is for her to stay alive.

What You’ll Like About Fury

If you’ve enjoyed the three previous books in the series, you’ll like this one. The action is intense at times but nothing is over the top. Those tense moments seemed plausible and kept me turning the pages.

Fury is the military working dog and he is as much a character as Hollyn and Davis. As a dog lover, I enjoy the scenes where the dog gets to take center stage. Fury is a little unpredictable, so he adds tension to the story too.

Finally, if you like the faith element, you’ll find it here. However, if you aren’t big on the faith element, rest assured, nothing is in your face or preachy.

Final Thoughts

Fury is one of those stories, you won’t want to put down, and it will keep you guessing until very near the end.
