Hunting the Witness by Kate Angelo is Kate’s second romantic suspense novel. Kate has been mentored by Lynette Eason, and her first novel Driving Force was published by Sunrise Media in 2022. She’ll have a novella Deadly Holiday Hijack coming out later this year in the novella collection Christmas in the Crosshairs.
What I Liked About Hunting the Witness by Kate Angelo
There are several plot twists in this novel that I definitely didn’t see coming, which made it a lot of fun to read. I may have had some inkling as to why the heroine was being hunted, but I was still surprised.
Belinda Lewis is the heroine and her character is smart, capable, and likable. She’s a quick thinker and didn’t need the hero to get her out of every jam. Yay, for that. The hero, Jonah Phillips, was an interesting character that had a few surprises to deal with during the story. He was a good guy and totally likable.
The publisher, Love Inspired, has certain elements they expect in their stories and Kate did a great job of meeting their expectations.
What You’ll Like About Hunting the Witness
If you like romantic suspense, you’ll enjoy this story. The balance between the two elements is well done. Belinda and Jonah have good chemistry and worked as a couple.
The plot twists are somewhat unusual, so if you like a variation on the typical suspense novel, you’ll enjoy this.
Finally, there is a faith element to the story, which is subtle but powerful and nicely done.

Final Thoughts
Hunting the Witness is a quick read, has good suspense, and a sweet romance. I’m looking forward to reading more from Kate in the future. I received an advance reader copy for review, but I’ve ordered the e-book because I think it’s important to support new authors.
