Love Unscripted by Denise Hunter is the latest standalone novel from one of my favorite authors. Hunter has once again crafted a thoroughly entertaining story that is sure to pull at your heartstrings.
What I Liked About Love Unscripted by Denise Hunter
I liked both main characters. I could relate to Chloe and how she created her ideal man in her debut novel. She’d suffered a lot of heartbreak where men were concerned, and it made sense she’d create the perfect man in her story. The fact the antithesis of this man was cast to play him in the movie added a certain levity to the story. However, readers soon learn Liam Hamilton isn’t the playboy he’s made out to be in the tabloids.
It was easy to empathize with Chloe and Liam as their backstories were revealed. I could understand how they would be a little jaded when it came to relationships.
The key themes at least from my perspective in Love Unscripted are forgiveness, trust, and vulnerability. Both Chloe and Liam had issues with trust and vulnerability, which ultimately caused the dark moment for them. Liam had a big heart and was more easily able to forgive those who hurt him, but Chloe in the end came around.
What You’ll Like About Love Unscripted
I can’t imagine if you enjoy Denise Hunter’s books, you won’t adore this story. It has humor and it also tugs at your heart as you learn about and come to care for the characters.
Hunter tackles the power of social media in a very realistic way from fickle fans to salacious tabloid reporters who wreak havoc in the lives of prominent people. I particularly liked this aspect of the book.
Final Thoughts
Hunter’s writing is superb, as usual. She weaves a wonderful story with relatable characters that you’ll want to see get their happily ever after.
