One Last Promise by Susan May Warren

One Last Promise by Susan May Warren is everything you’ve come to expect in one of her novels. Action, suspense, romance, and faith packaged into a compelling read.

What I Liked About One Last Promise by Susan May Warren

Warren set up this story in the second Alaska Air One Rescue book One Last Chance. Arlo “Moose” Mulligan had an unrequited love for Tillie Young that seemed mutual until Tillie disappeared. One Last Promise picks up several months later when Tillie shows up at Moose’s house needing his help to find her daughter. From that point on the action begins.

I’ve liked Moose from the start because he’s a man of his word and fiercely protective of those he loves. Tillie is a strong female with a perfect mixture of tough and tenderness. She’ll do whatever it takes to protect her daughter Hazel. The supporting characters are all familiar if you’ve read the two previous books, and I can say so far, I’ve liked them all.

The villain in the story is reprehensible in every way and he is the catalyst for all the action in the story. I couldn’t wait for him to get his due.

Finally, I loved Hazel. She was tough, sweet, and resilient, which made her so endearing. She also holds the key to one important plot element in the story that isn’t revealed until the end.

What You’ll Like About One Last Promise

I say this all the time, but if you love Warren’s books, you’ll love this one. I don’t know how she does it but she is a machine when it comes to producing compelling action-packed stories. The action starts early and continues with one twist after another until the end.

If you like how she weaves in her faith, you’ll find it here as well. She never fails to show God’s grace, redemption, and love.

Lastly, the love story is everything you want to see in a romance novel. Just enough spice so you can feel the tension but never crossing any lines of impropriety.

Final Thoughts

I didn’t want to stop reading this story. It definitely kept me turning the pages. As you might expect there is a great set up for the next book about Shep and London. A very intriguing set up I might add.
