Rescued Heart by Megan Besing continues the saga of the Last Chance County Firefighters. The latest story features Eddie Rice, a local firefighter, and Bianca “Bia” Pearl, a famous movie star.

What I Liked About Rescued Heart by Megan Besing

I liked the two main characters. Eddie was an all-around good guy who had a rough childhood. He had a good heart that wanted to help other less fortunate kids. Bianca had a checkered past, but not all of it was her own making. They worked well together as a couple.

Forgiveness was the theme in this story, and Besing took a biblical perspective on it. I agree we should all strive to be like Jesus and forgive; however, I think it’s very hard to reach the Lord’s level. Eddie was wronged spectacularly. I could see Eddie forgiving the individual who hurt him because we’re supposed to do that. But I had a hard time believing he would want to re-establish a relationship with the person who hurt him the most and really didn’t seem too choked up about having done so.

Bianca’s story kept the tension flowing. She paid an enormous price for some of her decisions. After hitting rock bottom, she learned from her mistakes and could see life was more than fame and fortune. Her story was more about coming back to the Lord and seeing her worth through His eyes.

What You’ll Like about Rescued Heart

If you’re a fan of Lisa Phillips, you’ll enjoy this story. She’s the creator of the story world and has mentored several authors, including Besing, in this series.

It’s romantic suspense, so you can expect plenty of action and intrigue. The romance is sweet and very low sizzle, so if you’re not a fan of steam, you’ll find this to your liking.

The faith element is nicely done.

Final Thoughts

Rescued Heart is a clean story that kept me guessing until the end.
