Shattered by Lisa Harris is the final novel in the Fallout Series. I must admit I’m sorry to see this series end. The entire concept of terrorists taking the Grid down across the nation is intriguing and frightening. I can see it happening for real.
What I Liked About Shattered
The series began with the focus on Hope McQuaid and Chase Beckett. At the end of The Last Day, the Grid fails and Chase disappears. In Shattered, Hope and Chase get their long-awaited reunion.
Like the previous books, Shattered has action galore. Harris did a great job of building tension in a cat and mouse like scenario. I kept turning the pages to see when the bad guy would figure out who the mole was.
The entire series emphasized how people working in a crisis can survive and be better people for it. Tragedy and uncertainty can draw people to each other and to the Lord.
What You’ll Like About Shattered
If you are an action fan, this has plenty of it. Bullets fly, cars wreck, and people run for their lives. The tension for most of the book is high.
For readers who tend to be preppers, you can learn a few things about surviving without all of the modern conveniences throughout the series.
Finally, if you enjoy a story with a good faith message, this novel will satisfy.
Final Thoughts
I learned a lot about prepping for a catastrophe by reading this series. I’ve done a little prepper research and Lisa Harris gave many accurate tips readers can use if the electrical grid should go down for an extended period of time.
The only thing I would have liked to see in Shattered is a bit more detail about the Realm.
When you start reading, you’re not going to want to stop.
