Surge by Voni Harris and Ronie Kendig is an action-packed race against time story. Once I started, I didn’t want to put it down.
What I Liked About Surge by Voni Harris and Ronie Kendig
Delaney Thompson is the best kind of heroine. She’s smart and aware of her limitations, but willing to jump into danger to stop a diabolical plan. The hero, Garrett Walker, is grumpy but loveable. He’s determined to protect Delaney no matter the cost. Together they have great chemistry.
Both Delaney and Garrett have regrets that they’re working to overcome throughout the story. These regrets stem from the mistaken beliefs that their actions caused harm to people they love. Learning to forgive themselves is a key theme.
The action is non-stop almost from the beginning and for the most part nothing is over the top. Delaney and Garrett are chasing very bad men, who, if successful, will kill millions of people. The premise is chilling and within the realm of possibility.
What You’ll Like About Surge
If you’ve enjoyed the other books in the series, you’ll like this installment. Surge has all the right elements for suspense. Harris does a superb job at keeping the anxiety level high.
Action lovers will not be disappointed, and for those who love clean romance, you’ll be satisfied.
As in all the previous books, there is a military working dog. Dog lovers will like how Surge steals the show from time to time.
Final Thoughts
Harris has done a bang-up job. Surge has a solid faith message that fans of Christian romantic suspense will appreciate. This is one of my favorite reads this year.
