The Catch by Lisa Harris

April 2, 2022 | Book Reviews

The Catch by Lisa Harris is the finale of her U.S. Marshals series, and neatly wraps up the over-arching mystery that has unfolded during the last two books. Who killed Madison James’ husband and shot her years later? There were many twists and turns to find out the answer, but in the end, the third book was a very satisfying read. It was my favorite in the series.

What I Liked About The Catch

This installment had two crimes that needed to be solved that were related to each other but separate from the mystery of who killed Madison’s husband. So, there were a lot of things for the reader to try and figure out.

I’ve liked the two main characters Madison and Jonas Quinn. In book one we were able to see Jonas work through some of the baggage he carried, but it took longer for Madison to get to a place where she could be at peace. People who have lost the person they love will be able to relate to Madison’s journey. It’s very realistic and touching.

The action kept me engaged and was well paced throughout the book. The villain for the crime in this book was quite despicable, and I felt great joy when the arrest finally came. And I was relieved for Madison to finally get closure when her tormentor got justice.

Who Will Like The Catch

If you like suspense, you’ll enjoy this book. There’s plenty of action for the action lovers. People do get hurt and die, but nothing is graphically depicted. There is romance, but it’s understated. If you don’t like a lot of romance, this is definitely your book. Readers know Madison and Jonas are in love with each other, but their love story is secondary to the suspense. Finally, if you’re a fan of Christian fiction, Harris has woven a very strong faith element in the story.

Final Thoughts

Lisa Harris has done a great job at bringing this series to a conclusion. As I stated earlier, The Catch was my favorite in the series, but all the books have been worth my time to read. I’ve enjoyed the series.

For readers, you’ll want to read the books in order unless you want to spoil the ending.
